My deviantART Story

To Two Different Lands by onagiri

A New World

deviantART has been an extraordinary pillar to my life. It's the kind of world that you'd think would only be in a fairytale - it's creative nature conjures so differently from the average lifestyle, yet it sticks to you like a lifelong partner you've always known. As a deviant and an artist, there's never a dull moment here that I've experienced.

Different by jackfreak1994

One thing I mainly love about deviantART is that it accepts diversity. You could be an anime artist creating your own manga - there are groups that promote that. You could be a staff member that has an unhealthy addiction for Pokemon and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - either way, you could be seen as potential partner to make deviantART a better place. Whereas, people will giggle and stare at you if you're seen playing Dungeons and Dragons with about five of your friends at a local coffee shop - deviantART would embrace that about you. It's home.

Code Geass - In acceptance, there is Peace by vaxzone

Acceptance has more value to me along with respect and peace. If I could never be labelled as a friend to someone, or even like a sister, the last thing I'd want is to be shunned. deviantART has so many people I have come to know, all who have been down the road I am still traveling. It's amazing how connected the community really is. You can never please everyone, even outside deviantART, but one thing is for certain here: "There will be always someone that listens."

.:Forbidden Friendship:. by Malinav

Friendship. Family. Love. deviantART has supplied every single kind the last 14 years, even to newcomers joining today. You'll never know if that favorite you made on that deviation will trigger a global collaboration between you and said artist. A random deviant you might have come across by boredom could be your biggest partner-in-crime - maybe now the wife you're currently holding hands with. It's a bag full of surprises.

Chain of Memories by Sho-chan9

Sadly with all of the connection we have here - veteran or not - not everyone will be here to stay. But each memory, privilege, and odd opportunities deviantART gives will always play a huge role in my life. As a woman. As a deviant. As an artist. From the 2008 April Fool's Mudkip Invasion to the 2009 deviantART World Tour - from the 10th Anniversary BirthdAy Bash to the deviantART Sponsorship at SDCC, the memories will always be cherished... not just by me, but many others along the way.

This is my deviantART Story. This is my home.

In honor of deviantART's 14th Birthday, I dedicate this feature based on my experiences as a deviant, an artist, and a volunteer.:heart:
